I am a user of Photoshop trying to learn Illustrator. While there are some commonalities between the programs, Illustrator has tools with properties and protocols wildly different from anything I know. The book is thorough and priceless in teaching me how to use them.

Couldn't been very proof read because several diagram boxes have blurry print on the little gray boxes showing measurements like Width and Height. I assume this was a scanning problem. Wish I had bought the actual book
Since I have had adobe illustrator 2022, I have enjoyed it from the start.It makes it easy to learn and draw things you could not do in othersimilar software packages. If you are looking to do graphics in a websetting this is the software for you.
The proofreader must have given up at chapter 14 because after that much of the instruction is spotty and downright incorrect. The author should try following the instructions for the "editing an opacity mask" section. Yikes!
The Web Edition is a bit hard to figure out how to get to. But it is worth it.The Web Edition has how-to videos for small sections of the book. The videos are demonstrated by the author with a great 'teacher' voice. Absolutely flew through the training. It was very fun and very helpful.
Buying the Amazon digital book for my online computer class, was a mistake. It is difficult to access the intreactive tutorals with book. I should have purchased it through my college. What a headache.
