The Reviews

This book was my first read of 2021 and proved to be perfect motivation to help me achieve my New Year's resolution of single tasking. While many of the concepts discussed were familiar to me, the author does an excellent job tying in these concepts with research, self evaluation tools and good humor. It is a quick read and provided the right encouragement and motivation I needed.

Just single tasked my way through this useful book. There was a lot to like - the quotations were often spot on. Steve Jobs and George Washington! The tip on using a "parking lot" for good but not on-point ideas (page 48) and the endorsement of taking regular breaks (page 58) are really helpful ideas for increasing productivity at any task. The book returns to that idea (page 108) in a section called time-shifting.The ideas in the book are not all new but they are largely accurate and they are presented in a breezy style that is rarely off-putting and that is easy to follow and understand. So, 4 and a half stars rounded up to 5 for a timely book that reminds most of us of what we should already know. That's what we appreciate - the recognition of truth we may have been ignoring.

I loved this book so much that after I bought the kindle version, I bought the hard copy. It completely changed my thinking and really changed how I approach many aspects of my life, from the obvious- time management - to the surprising- how I manage relationships. Really a powerful book. Give it a few chapters and- forgive some weakly written segments; the overall message is excellent and this book is PACKED with really good information and tips.

I know that Devora is right about multitasking being a myth… I’ve always known it, but only SHE can convince me to actually try single tasking without fear that everything else will fall through the cracks! Devora’s book is refreshingly entertaining and encouraging, her book is well researched and has the right combination of being assertive but still gentle. She gives me hope that there is an answer to me being so busy and yet seeming to never make real progress in getting things done. I love this book, a true breath of fresh air and fun to read too!

I always wait with anticipation for Devora Zack's books. Once again, she tackles a tough subject with humor, personal revelations, stories and such darn good writing. This time Zack writes about how coming out from under the myth of multitasking is possible. She guides us down that road. The assessments alone will get your productivity revving up. She writes, "The practice of singletasking returns us to being where we are, restoring whole relationships and real interactions." What better case is there for buying this book for everyone you know?

Best time management book. It includes a simple set of guiding principals and techniques to help you be more productive. There's no need to adopt some complex organization framework or buy software.

Devora Zack's done it again: helped us challenge our assumptions, shift our behavior, all while making us laugh at the world and ourselves. In her third book, she takes on our collective addiction to multi-tasking. She provides the tough-love facts and on-the-ground strategies to help us break free from the illusion that we can get more done by doing it all at once.

The title says it succently. Ms. Zack explains why multitasking is inefficient and how to break that habit.

It arrived early, looked as described and what I was hoping for. I have been using it for a while and now have noticed that yhe top part where the back strap and the strap for hanging or grabbing has started to separate and once it's started doing that it will tear the rest of the way. If your not going to use it for what it was made for laptops and more I would highly recommend this bag. I was excited but now I will use it till I can't anymore.

Will do for now! I like it very cute and stylish. Not the most heavy duty however.

I absolutely love this bag. Works great for me as a college student and professional. Only issue I have had is that the straps are coming undone.

I got this for an international travel I could use as in cabin backpack and every day during my travels for 2 weeks. I carried some heavy things including my PC in this and it's great. It's comfortable, casual yet stylish and as good as a heavy duty backpack.

I accidentally left my cup filled with water on the cup holder sides of the back pack and my laptop was INSIDE. I was driving for a long while (hours) ....I eventually realized it and rushed to check how bad my laptop was soaked. I got it out the whole inside was dry, the outside was wet and drenched in water. I checked it out very thoroughly nothing was ruined, everything was okay and ALL DRY..I was very surprised! I was skeptical on this back pack but turned out it was perfect and just what I needed. Definitely would buy this back pack again its very worth it!!!!

My 2cd grader loves it. It will last her a while with every day school use. The design is A great alternative to typical grade school backpacks.

I like the fabric, the color of the fabric, the many zippered places to store categorized items, and the padded handle and shoulders straps, make this backpack a very comfortable piece of luggage.

My daughter chose this backpack for school. It's great! Lots of pockets for storage of all her school supplies.
